How to Convert Hourly Pay to Salary

Multiply your hourly wage by the hours you work in a week, then by the weeks you work in a year. A full-time year is 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours, so $25 an hour is $25 × 2,080 = $52,000 a year.

To go the other way, divide the salary by 2,080: $60,000 ÷ 2,080 = $28.85 an hour. If you work 37.5 hours a week, use 1,950 hours instead (37.5 × 52).

A quick rule of thumb: double the hourly wage and add three zeros. $25 an hour is roughly $50,000 a year (the exact figure is $52,000).

After tax, CPP and EI, $25 an hour in Ontario is about $41,641 a year, or $20.02 an hour. See any province in the paycheque calculator.
