Detailed Walkthrough
Make every paycheque work
Monthly budgets don't fit a bi-weekly pay schedule: rent is due on the 1st, but your pay lands on alternating Fridays. This free planner budgets one paycheque at a time, so you always know which pay covers which bill.
The two "extra" paycheques
Paid every two weeks, you get 26 paycheques a year, not 24. Two months have three paydays, and because your bills are already covered by the other two, that third cheque is free money for savings or debt. The calendar marks those months for you.
How to use it
- Enter your first payday and usual take-home pay.
- List bills and savings, and choose which paycheque pays each one.
- Check what's left from each cheque, and move bills around until both look healthy.

Frequently asked questions
How many paycheques do I get if I am paid bi-weekly?
26 a year, so two months have three paydays. Which months depends on your first payday; the planner works it out.
What should I do with a third paycheque?
Since your regular bills are covered by the other two, many people send it straight to an emergency fund, a TFSA or extra debt payments.
Does it work in Google Sheets and on a Mac?
Yes. It is an Excel workbook (.xlsx) that opens in Excel for Windows and Mac, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets (upload it to Drive, then open with Google Sheets). Formulas recalculate as you type.
