You get a T4A for pension income, self-employed commissions, scholarships, fees for services and other income that isn't a salary.

- Commissions paid to you as an independent agent, not as an employee.

- Enter gross commissions on line 13899 and net commissions (after expenses) on line 13900, using Form T2125.
- How it affects your refund
- Self-employed income usually means a balance owing, because no tax or CPP was taken off.
- No tax was withheld on this income, so you may owe at filing time.
- You pay both halves of CPP on self-employment income (Schedule 8).
